Proven Ways to Stop Smoking for Good – Full Stop!

Proven Easy Ways to Shatter your Addiction to Smoking

Choosing The Best Way To Stop Smoking

As anyone who smokes can tell you, quitting the habit is difficult business. We now are aware that smoking is not just a habit, but an addiction to nicotine as well. Weaning yourself away from cigarettes is often hard, but it is not impossible. Finding the right stop smoking aids to help you in your fight against tobacco is a key factor in enjoying success.

Acupuncture to Break your Nicotine Addiction

Acupuncture has earned its place as a valid method for relieving and controlling many conditions. Using acupuncture to help you quit smoking may be the ideal method for you to try. Finding an acupuncturist that is skilled in the methods of this ancient practice can be a sure fire way to limit your cravings and begin your journey to quit smoking today. There are many people who have been successful using the acupuncture technique to quit smoking.

Going Cold Turkey

There are many people who one day woke up and decided that they were done with cigarettes for good. They are people with a strong will power that can quit smoking cold turkey. If you are motivated enough, cold turkey may be an excellent way for you to quit rather than trying to taper off gradually. The only problem you may have with the cold turkey method is trying to fight off the nicotine cravings without any support.

Nicotine Patches are Said to Work Excellent

Many former smokers swear by the nicotine patch method to quit smoking. Those who have successfully used the patch to kick the habit have said that the patch helped immensely with withdrawal symptoms as well as help to fight the cravings for nicotine that are usually the downfall of even the most committed person. You can get the nicotine patch without a doctor’s prescription and it may be well worth looking into.

Nicotine Gum will Keep Your Mouth Busy

There are those that know that if they keep their mouths occupied, they may eliminate some of the stress and cravings when they are trying to quit. Chewing gum is a great way to keep your mouth busy doing something other than pulling on a cigarette. Even better is nicotine gum which not only keeps your mouth occupied, but also gives you a small dose of nicotine to help fight cravings. The nicotine gum typically comes in varying amounts of nicotine as you will need less the longer you don’t smoke. Adding nicotine gum to your arsenal of weapons to fight the urge to smoke is a good idea for the person who is serious about quitting.

You can find many more options and methods to help you quit smoking. If you are bound and determined to be successful at kicking this smelly, dirty and very unhealthy habit, you will find the ideal method that can take you all the way to success.

Stop Smoking Laser Treatments

Can a laser treatment really help you to stop smoking cigarettes? How does a laser treatment even work? Is it painful?

First of all, the type of laser treatment we are talking about here is painless, and it is considered to be a "cold laser treatment." You will not be burned or scarred in any way. Now the actual treatment is done while you are either sitting or laying down, and they shoot this laser into your body through various points on your arms, legs, and so on. The idea behind the treatment is that it can stimulate certain chemical activity in the body, supposedly related to the endorphins. This will in term make the person receiving the treatment feel better, essentially through dopamine production.

Now whether or not this can actually help you to stop smoking remains to be proven. The fact is that most quit smoking techniques, such as the gum and the patch, have undergone clinical trials that have proven that they are more effective than a placebo. These laser treatments for smoking have yet to go through any of these clinical trials just yet, as the companies that provide the treatments will not agree to the testing. So this in itself casts some shadow of doubt on the whole process and its effectiveness.

Keep in mind that the same exact laser treatment is used to treat people for weight loss as well. This is another warning sign that something might be amiss here, because it does not necessarily make sense that the same exact procedure could work well for treating both conditions.

Quit Smoking Hypnosis – A Simple DIY Smoking Hypnosis Technique to …

Quit smoking hypnosis has effectively helped many people to stop smoking. However, getting professional help from a good hypnotherapist is not only expensive, you may have to wait quite a while before you can get an appointment. Hypnosis CDs can be a reasonable alternative, but like hypnotherapists, the good ones are expensive and there are many lousy ones that just waste your time and money. Sometimes, if you want something done right, you need to do it yourself. Here is a method of self hypnosis that you can do on your own, where you can effectively verify the results of each step.

This quit smoking hypnosis technique is easy to perform and works fast. You do not need to have a strong imagination. This is important, because many common self hypnosis techniques need good imagination to work well. That is why many people say they have tried hypnosis and failed – because they do not have the level of imagination needed to make it work for them. For that matter, neither do I. Which is why I try to use props for my own self-help hypnosis.

There are only two props needed for this smoking hypnosis method: your cigarettes and some food you do not like, for example chili or celery. The aim is to hypnotically anchor the act of smoking cigarettes to the taste eating something extremely disagreeable and unpleasant to yourself. That means every time you pull out a cigarette to light it up, you will taste an unpleasant sensation in your mouth (the taste of hot spicy chili burning your tongue) and be reminded that you want to quit smoking. This can be an exceptionally helpful reminder for those who quit cold turkey. It is also a strong discouragement for those times you feel really tempted to smoke, and you can increase the effectiveness even more by carefully using nicotine patches or chewing gum to help you handle your nicotine withdrawal symptoms.

Here are the simple steps needed to create this hypnotic anchor:

  • Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed.
  • Induce a light hypnotic trance by counting backwards from 100 to 1. Do this as many times as needed until you feel calm and relaxed. There are other ways to put yourself under a light hypnotic trance, but this is the easiest way for most people.
  • Once you are very calm and relaxed, pull out your cigarette as usual. However, instead of lighting it up, put the chili in your mouth and bite down on it. At this stage, most people will leave the hypnotic trance.
  • Repeat at least once everyday at the same time until biting down on the chili does not end your feeling of relaxation. This means the anchor is finally in place.
  • Once your anchor is in place, remember to renew it at least once a week initially, and eventually once a month.

And that is all there is to this simple, proven quit smoking hypnosis technique. Every step is simple and verifiable. It uses a light hypnotic trance so that your subconscious mind makes the anchor quickly and easily while letting you remain in control. It uses props so even the most unimaginative and stolid accountant or engineer can make it work for themselves. You also do not have to worry about some crooked hypnotist mucking about inside your mind doing who knows what.

Types of Nicotine Replacement Therapy – Aids to Help Fight …

There are many types of Nicotine Replacement Therapy that a smoker can choose from to help him with his problems on quitting smoking: nicotine nasal spray, nicotine inhalers, and nicotine lozenges. All these NRT types have their own ways as to how they work and what advantages and disadvantages they bring to the user. These qualities help a smoker choose what type would best fit him in his fight against nicotine addiction.

The Nicotine Nasal Spray brings nicotine into the bloodstream through the nose. It helps control nicotine cravings and ease withdrawal symptoms quickly but unlike other types of NRT, a prescription is required before you can get hold of it. This type of NRT is easy to use and so most smokers prefer it. The FDA though recommends that it should be used for a maximum of 6 months as it still contains nicotine that is highly addictive. Most users would experience discomforts like nasal irritation, sneezing, watery eyes, coughing, and runny nose when they use nicotine nasal sprays. Users who have allergies and asthma are also advised to use other types of NRT.

Nicotine Inhaler is composed of a cartridge containing small tubes with nicotine content in them. As you take a puff from the inhaler, the cartridge gives out nicotine vapor but unlike most inhalers, the vapor is delivered to the mouth and not into the lungs. Its mechanism is that like of a cigarette and so smokers favor it too. This is another type of NRT that requires prescription, is quite expensive, and only a recommended dose of 6 to 16 cartridges in a day for 6 months is allowed. Most common side effects of inhalers are throat irritation, coughing and even upset stomach.

Nicotine Lozenges is an over-the counter type of NRT and is the latest to be introduced in the market. Like the nicotine gum, it comes in two doses of 2 and 4 mg. Most professionals would instruct a user to take 1 lozenge every 2 hours for 6 weeks, then another lozenge every 4 hours for the next 3 weeks. On the 10th to the 12th week, only 1 lozenge is to be taken every 8 hours. It has been found out though that lozenges can cause coughing, nausea, hiccups, heartburn, headaches, and some trouble sleeping so never use more than 20 lozenges in a day.

These types of nicotine replacement therapy all aim to help you fight back against your nicotine addiction. If you plan to use any of the methods, choose what’s best for you and remember to use them properly.

Products That Can Help Quit Smoking – Herbal Stop Smoking Aids

There are billions of smokers out there. Some are struggling to quit while others have no desire to do so. The culprit: tobacco and nicotine are basically very addictive. The consequences of using tobacco or cigarettes are many and can be life-threatening.

Smoking is the leading cause of lung cancer in addition to other chronic respiratory and cardiovascular disorders. Fact is no benefit can be gained by smoking, not only does it affect the smoker but the people around him as well. These are just some of the reasons why a lot of smokers would like to quit.

Problem is most smokers are not able to quit easily due to the addiction. Some of these problems are also psychological as well.

The good news is there are several products to help quit smoking. As before, consult your doctor before buying any of these products. Here are a couple of the products to help quit smoking problems.

Nicotine patch is a self-adhesive patch usually placed between the neck and the waste. It works by releasing the nicotine into the blood stream and then through the skin. Another product that can help you quit smoking is the nicotine gum.

It is like the ordinary gum but this one satisfies your craving for nicotine. While chewing this gum you will notice the tingly feel or peppery taste, this means nicotine is slowly being released.

There are also newer herbal stop smoking aids available. These are made from 100% natural ingredients and they mimic the effects of nicotine but without the harmful chemicals.

They are gaining popularity these days as more people realize they are better for your health. Plus, using nicotine related products still does not allow you to quit your smoking addiction easily.

There are still more products if you shop around. Some may work for you and some may not. There’s no need to worry because you can always ask your doctor about the product that will work best for you.

Stop Smoking Aids – What You Need to Know

There are many stop smoking aids on the market today. In fact, if you were cynical you may believe that the tobacco manufacturers, who are seeing a dip in profits as well as facing prospective legal action, may have seen another source of profit. They could provide stop smoking aids!

A study in Australia in 2006 confirmed that over 80% of successful non smokers i.e. those that had quit smoking had done it themselves by going cold turkey. They didn’t use any stop smoking aids but simply stopped. So the best stop smoking aid is your own mind. Make a decision to cease and stick to it.

But if you feel that you need an aid to help you quit, here are some of the most common ones available:

Nicotine gum, patches or inhalers: The idea behind these stop smoking aids is that chewing the gum or using nasal sprays helps you to deal with nicotine cravings. There is no doubt that nicotine is such a powerful drug, the cravings it can induce can be extremely difficult for some people to deal with. By chewing this gum or sticking a patch on your leg or arm, your system is still getting its fix of nicotine albeit in smaller quantities. This is much better than smoking cigarettes which contain over 4000 different chemicals of which over 60 are proven to be carcinogenic.

But there are people who have got addicted to the nicotine gum, patches and pills and are having trouble coming off this nicotine replacement therapy. Nicotine in any form is dangerous causing a build up of plague on blood cells which can lead to heart disease. So avoid it where possible and only use as a short term aid.

Medications: Your doctor can prescribe some medications that are not nicotine based. The most well known would be the brand names Zyban and Chantix. Zyban is an anti-depressant that also acts as a non smoking aid. Chantix, approved in 2006, works with the neurotransmitters in your brain interfering with how you react to nicotine. Your body does not get the same pleasure or fix from using the nicotine. Neither of these drugs are suitable for long term use and wouldn’t be prescribed usually for pregnant or breastfeeding women. They can also cause some unpleasant side effects such as nausea and bowel disturbances. But both have been proven to help some people quit smoking.

Other stop smoking aids include hypnosis, acupuncture, yoga and aromatherapy and are worth a try. Some herbal remedies such as Lobelia and St John’s Wort, have helped some people to quit smoking. But, as these products interfere with other medications, they are not suitable for a variety of patients and can be quite addictive their own right, you may want to give these particular stop smoking aids a miss.

The Innovative Stop Smoking Patches That Help You Quit Smoking

Due to the health hazards caused by smoking there are many people who are ready to quit the habit and they try finding alternate and easy solutions for their smoking addiction. This is the reason there are new products being launched in the market that boast of helping you get rid of your addiction for good. But the best product that aids you in quitting are stop smoking patches – commonly known as Nicotine patches.

The stop smoking patches are becoming very popular. They are rectangular patches that need to be applied to the smoker’s skin who wants to quit. The patch contains nicotine and when it is applied to the skin of the patient the nicotine starts being absorbed into the patient’s body. This way the person’s nicotine requirements are fulfilled through these nicotine patches and the need to smoke stops.

Although nicotine, the main ingredient of all cigarettes, is toxic, tar is the component which causes the most harm. Using stop smoking patches that are the smoker can satisfy their nicotine urges but can keep away from the harmful effects of tar.

Different Variations of Nicotine Patches:

The stop smoking patches are available in different variations that contain different amounts of nicotine in them. These variation patches are made so that the smokers who want to quit the habit can choose the patch that will work for them in the best way according to their smoking habits. Heavy smokers require heavy doses of nicotine while the normal smokers can use the patches that contain less nicotine. People who are heavy smokers start by using the concentrated patches and then slowly decrease the dose until the addiction vanishes. There is still an ongoing debate about the benefits of stop smoking patches because some people find it hard to grasp that nicotine is used to treat nicotine addiction as many people have seen people revert back to smoking cigarettes as soon as they discontinue using the patches.

Stop smoking patches are an innovative way to quit smoking and they are made with a unique blend of ingredients so that you can finally get rid of the habit for good. Keep in mind that you need to place the stop smoking patches on different parts of the skin every three days. Avoid using patches on the face and it is best if you apply the on hair free areas so that you will not have any discomfort when you remove them. These stop smoking patches are made of natural ingredients which are formulated to not experience nicotine withdrawal and help to clean the entire body of most of the smoking related toxins.
